Hey man, i use to work in a recon shop for a while at a large car dealership. If we wanted the car to look really nice and be VERY protected, we used malco lite finish, put a razor thin layer over the car with a wax pad, one pannel at a time and buffed it, taking out all the fine scratches, then after we buffed the whole car, went over it with malco imperial wax. You wouldn't believe how the water beads off the car after you use it. The beads are rediculously small. After you apply the wax we went over it with a product called "mist-it" which is similar to mguires quick detail spray. Any of those will work, takes off all the excess wax you didn't remove. And then we take a detail brush and an air hose and go over all the cracks in the car and get the remaining dried wax outa there. Looks brand new with an amazing shine and protection when you're done, good luck!
